HSJ Hi-Flow Catalytic Converters //05.11.2015

Picture
Well, my conscience finally caught up with me :) That, and my kids talking about my 'stinky car' put me over the edge to finally add cats to my beast of an exhaust system.

HSJ seems to be the go-to company for hi-flows, and after doing some searching and consulting with AMD, I went with their 280HP / 3.5L per cat universal models. That's not quite up to the HP I'm making at this point, but at $550/each, compared to the $750/each for ones that would be fully on spec, I wasn't in the mood to spend even more. Crazy as is!

As I had my Stage 3+ clutch installed at the same time, I haven't had a chance yet to see how this impacts the ole' butt dyno. One very nice side benefit, though, is that it's taken the bit of undesirable (IMO) rasp out of the exhaust that was there prior. It's a more 'pillowy' rumble now vs a harsher metal based one. I LOVE the difference as the insanely loud and obnoxious (but yet so lovely) sound was starting to get to me a bit from a daily driving perspective.

Big kudos to Jason & Donnie @ AMD for reworking the DP section of the exhaust to make sure these fit in perfectly.
